Wireless charging has existed over the last decade but has just begun to become popular again after the use of smart devices. Apple is among the most prolific manufacturers supporting non-wired charging with its introduction last year.
They have however patented the non-direct charging system between devices.
With this patent, a MacBook Pro can charge iPhone and Apple Watch simultaneously as there are three built-in charging zones on the palm rest. An iPad can also charge an iPhone placed on the screen.
The idea of smartphones charging other smart devices is not new. Just before it requires wired connection as supported by devices that support USB OTG.
